"Star Trek Beyond" co-writer Doug Jung has been hired by Paramount and J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot to revise their sci-fi script, "God Particle" -- a project originally written by "22 Jump Street" scribe Oren Uziel.

According to TheWrap, "God Particle" tells the tale of "...an American space station crew who, believing they have destroyed Earth via a Hadron accelerator, allow the crew of hostile nations to board their ship, with disastrous results."

Before getting acquainted with Bad Robot and Paramount -- when he was hired to re-write the "Star Trek Beyond" script with star Simon Pegg -- Jung mostly wrote for TV on series like "Big Love", "Dark Blue", and "Banshee".

Julius Onah ("The Girl Is in Trouble") is currently attached to direct "God Particle", which hasn't been given a release date.
