Actor Jennifer Morrison, who played Winona Kirk in 2009's Star Trek, has said that she would like to reprise the role of Captain James T. Kirk's mother in Star Trek 4.
“I would love that!” Morrison said when asked about the possibility at Montreal Comiccon, as reported by ComicBook. “I don’t have any idea what they’re doing. I have not heard from anyone. So, I don’t know where they’re in the process. I don’t even know if they have a script. I have no idea where they’re at with all of it. But, I loved being a part of that franchise. I loved playing Winona Kirk. I feel super honored to have played Winona Kirk and any way I could possibly be involved, I would, of course, love to be. You never know.”
As Morrison is quick to note, she's unsure of whether she'll actually get the chance to appear in the film, as she doesn't currently know where the series will boldly go in Star Trek 4. Although details surrounding the upcoming film remain sparse, early reports indicated that the fourth installment would bring back Chris Hemsworth’s George Kirk — the father of Chris Pine’s James T. Kirk. However, outside of that, little to no information is available about the movie, which is expected to start filming sometime next year.
S.J. Clarkson will direct Star Trek 4, which does not currently have a release date.
