After two years of delays, The Stanley ParableThe Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, is nearing release. The remaster, which includes the base game along with new content interwoven through the original and new endings, is planned to release on consoles and PC, allowing players across all platforms to experience the cult classic metanarrative game.

The Stanley Parable's strange, hilarious and sometimes thought-provoking nature is reflected in its achievements. There are ten achievements players can acquire, and while some are incredibly simple, others are quite complex, with one actually taking years to complete. For those still having trouble finding every achievement, now is the perfect time to finish it before the remaster launches.

Beat the Game

This achievement is simple to get a hold of, and the first players will likely get when playing the game for the first time. All you need to do is play the game in the exact way the Narrator directs players to go. Players need to obey all of the Narrator’s instructions without ever disobeying, even once. This will lead to the Freedom ending for the game, rewarding you with an achievement for doing what you're told. How ironic.

Click on Door 430 Five Times

This achievement might sound straightforward, but in The Stanley Parable, this is anything but. Nearby where players start at Stanley’s office is door 430 that, when players press five times, the Narrator will block you from getting the achievement, saying that you’ll need to do more to earn it. He’ll encourage you to click the door 20 times, then 50, then send you around the office to click on multiple doors. First, find and click on door 417 a few times, then door 437, then 415, then back to 437. Next, click on the copy machine before returning to 417, then climb atop employee 419’s desk. Click on door 416 before clicking the copy machine again and, finally, click door 430 five times where this all started and claim your well-earned achievement.

Welcome Back

This is another achievement that can be rewarded quite quickly and easily. After running the game for the first time, quit the game, then simply open it again. This can be done immediately after first closing the game, and you don’t even have to leave the main menu area.

You Can’t Jump

Adding to the long list of actions players cannot do in this game, you can’t jump. Trying to, however, will reward you with this next achievement. Players need to click several times at the edge of a desk or table like they’re trying to climb on top. This won’t ever do anything, but keep doing it enough, and eventually, the achievement will be unlocked. A good area in the game to do this might be the conference room when traveling through the left door, which has a very large table.

When entering the boss’s office, players will be directed by the Narrator to a keypad at the back that guards a secret passageway. The proper code is 2845, but any four-number combination can be entered. If players enter the number 8 into the keypad eight times, they’ll be rewarded with the achievement. This is a not-so-subtle reference to the demo for The Stanley Parable, which included an Eight Game that displayed an 8 on various monitors along with a deep voice saying eight every time you pressed the button. The number eight has been a long-running joke in The Stanley Parable, with references hidden all over the game.

Achievement

This next achievement will likely baffle players because there’s no description on what to do to unlock it. However, the achievement image of an off button is a hint on what to do. In the game's main menu, click on Options, then go to the Extras menu and scroll down to the Achievement category. Enabling and disabling achievements should reward players with yet another achievement.

Commitment

Some of these achievements can’t be done quickly and require you to put in literal hours. The Commitment trophy requires players to have The Stanley Parable running for the entire duration of a Tuesday. Thankfully you don’t need to actually play the game, and it doesn't have to be a specific Tuesday, but the game needs to be running from 12 am to 12 pm without stop.

Speed Run

As the name implies, players need to complete the game as fast as possible. In this case, players need to reach the Freedom ending in less than four minutes. This can be difficult because players need to enter the keypad code 2845 before the Narrator stops speaking in the boss’s office. However, the Narrator will deliberately make players wait a bit longer before they can unlock the hidden elevator. Once in the mind control facility, after pressing any button before getting in the elevator, get on the tables and jump to the catwalks while they are still rising and go ahead. Then get the Freedom ending by turning off the power and leaving for the outside world.

Video Games Stanley Parable desk

Playing video games can be fun, but sometimes it doesn’t hurt to take a break and enjoy the real world. More often than not, art imitates life. The Stanley Parable recognizes this; that’s why this achievement requires players to quit the game and not play it again for literally five years. Of course, if you’re in a hurry to get every achievement in the game as quickly as possible, players can enter their computer’s system files, then go to time preferences, set the time forward five years and start the game up again. Just make sure to change the time back again after getting the achievement.

Unachievable

This is considered the most complicated achievement to acquire, mainly because the tasks require you to mess with the game's files. Open your Steam library and right-click The Stanley Parable in your games list, then select the option that says Properties. Select the menu at the top that says Local Files, then select Browse Local Files. This should take you to the game's files. Click on the folder named thestanleyparable, then another folder titled cfg.

Inside this folder, right-click config.cfg and select Open with Notepad or any other text editor you have. Add a new line to the bottom of the text editor and enter bind "x" "~;_u" into a new line. Save the file but be sure to set the file to read-only; otherwise, it will be reset to its original settings once the game loads. Return to your Steam Library and launch The Stanley Parable. Once you begin the game, go up to any object, press the Interact key, and then wait about ten seconds to achieve the Unachievable achievement.
