In this week's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." episode, a captive Agent Koenig (played by Patton Oswalt) told off his captor by saying that they could torture him, even eat his liver, and he wouldn't give them what they wanted. Always eager to help, Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee took to Twitter to share a for-real recipe for beef liver with rice from the 1977 Marvel Cookbook.

Oswalt and Lee then had a back and forth about the liver recipe.

@pattonoswalt Hey Wiseguy, if you're going to tell people to eat your liver you might as well have the courtesy to give 'em a recipe too!— stan lee (@TheRealStanLee) February 1, 2017

The recipe comes from 1977's "The Mighty Marvel Superheroes' Cookbook," which also includes recipes for Panther's Snack (with chips), Spidey's Chocolate Web Pancakes, Thor's Asgardian Vegetable Soup and Iron Man's special salad.

In the clip, which you can see below, Agent Koening also offers up his fingers to be cut off. Not surprisingly, there are no finger-based recipes in the '70s Marvel cookbook.
