In his final appearance at Fan Expo Canada, Stan Lee made a surprising comment about one comic character he loved, though he had no part in its creation. “Did you ever see Lobo?" he said in response to a fan's question. "I thought he was a character that should be a Marvel character, 'cause he was the worst human being on Earth, and he was so evil and vile and strong and ugly, and I loved him!”

Lobo is the ‘gritty’ interstellar mercenary and bounty hunter created by Roger Slifer and Keith Griffen in 1983. Actually an alien from the planet Czarnia, Lobo was originally brought in as a villain in the 1980s but went on to gain his own solo run as an ‘anti-hero.’ With super strength, advanced healing and a dogged approach to completing his bounty contracts ‘no matter what,’ Stan Lee can be hardly be blamed for thinking that the character would have worked well alongside the likes of Wolverine and Punisher.

“I loved him! But he belonged to DC. But they never knew what to do with him,” Lee added.

Lee did go on to take another jab at DC during the panel in Canada. When asked, in the same panel, how he thought DC could make a film which is a hit with the critics, he added, “Let me write it.”
