No one has appeared in more superhero movies than Stan Lee. His cameos -- which include not only the Marvel Cinematic Universe's movies but also Sony's Spider-Man films and Fox's X-Men flicks -- have become an anticipated part of the movie going experience for a great number of comics fans. Now, Stan "The Man" would also be willing to up his screen-time even further.

At a recent panel at the Silicon Valley Comic-Con, Lee explained that his favorite cameo to date was his two-scene appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron, in which he plays a World War II veteran who gets into an ill-advised drinking contest with Thor. While Stan's character is definitely worse for wear at the end of the encounter, he is still just about able to slur his trademark catchphrase "Excelsior!" as he is carried out of the bar.

“The thing I loved about that cameo is, if you think about it, that is the only cameo I’ve done that had two scenes. It was more than a cameo. It was almost like a role in the movie! So now I’m shooting for cameos that have three scenes, four scenes. Eventually I hope to be the co-star,” he joked.

Will Stan have an even more substantial cameo in Spider-Man: Homecoming than he managed in the recent NBA Finals Spider-Man spot? Fans only have to wait a month more to find out.

Arriving in theaters July 7, director Jon Watts’ Spider-Man: Homecoming stars Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Jon Favreau, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Tyne Daly, Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr.
