The following contains spoilers for Heroes Reborn: Squadron Savage #1, by Ethan Sacks, Luca Pizzari, Carlos Lopez and VC's Travis Lanham, on sale now.

While the Squadron Supreme of America are the leading super-team in the rewritten reality of Heroes Reborn, they are far from the only team of antiheroes active in the reimagined Marvel Universe. While Hyperion's team serve as this world's mightiest heroes, a black ops team operates under the illicit leadership of Secretary of Defense Wilson Fisk to carry out missions around the world that take a more clandestine touch.

Here are all the familiar faces on the Heroes Reborn reality's Squadron Savage and how they differ from their main Marvel Universe counterparts.

Punisher

Heroes Reborn Punisher

Frank Castle gets the chance at domestic bliss that was robbed from him in the normal reality, with his wife and children still evidently alive and well. Despite this, Frank still visibly has a troubled history, implied to have tried to get out of the black ops missions that take a heavy toll on his soul but finds himself drawn back due to his expertise.

Eschewing the usual skull logo, Frank wears a large exosuit with a similar color scheme and comes in heavily armed as a master marksman and tactician on the field. In twist, Frank's family is revealed to be a delusion, as he lives with mockup mannequins in a padded cell, unaware of reality.

Elektra

Heroes Reborn Elektra

If the Squadron Savage echoes the DC Universe's Suicide Squad and Wilson Fisk's role draws parallels to Amanda Waller, then Elektra Natchios lines up with the Squad's field commander Rick Flag. Leading the Squadron Savage as they embark on their missions, it's Elektra that personally recruits and oversees the various members of the team, while maintaining a direct link to Fisk.

Elektra mirrors her main counterpart, right down to her choice in martial arts weaponry and outfit, albeit with slightly more armor than her classic costume.

Cloak

Heroes Reborn Cloak

One of the most surprising members on the Squadron Savage is Cloak, one half of the usual superhero team Cloak & Dagger. Cloak provides the Squadron with their teleportation through his shroud, having attained his powers after being dosed with an experimental drug.

This iteration of Cloak is especially haunted, traumatized by a past incident where Dagger was forcibly taken away by a rival group known as the Redeemers and took on the outlaw moniker of Moonglow. Tandy informs Tyrone that his memories of this incident are actually a result of his government programming as the duo find themselves on opposite sides of the law.

Crossbones

Heroes Reborn Crossbones

The most bloodthirsty member of the Squadron Savage is the supervillain Crossbones, with Brock Rumlow clearly reveling in the brutal combat that he and the team frequently find themselves in. While still armed to the teeth with conventional weaponry, Crossbones wears a massive battle suit, with its own impressive ordinance.

Crossbones and the Punisher are implied to share a violent history together and, after Crossbones massacres Moonglow during a battle with the Redeemers, Frank briefly recalls his past with Crossbones in the main Marvel Universe and shoots him dead.

Wasp

Murder Hornet

The most tragic figure in the Squadron Savage is Murder Hornet, this world's incarnation of the Wasp. In this reality, Janet Van Dyne is a size-changing thief that is eventually captured by the government. Subjected to cruel experiments, Janet gains the ability to command swarms of hornets.

Working for Elektra, Murder Hornet is one of the deadliest members of the Squadron and, unlike several of her counterparts, lives to fight another day.
