SPX announces ‘War’ theme for 2004 Anthology

SPX, North America’s premier alternative comic-book festival, announces
the theme of “War” for this year’s installment its acclaimed annual
anthology of cartoon and comic art.

The SPX anthology is an annual book that both serves as a showcase for
comics creators as well as a money-raising vehicle for the Comic Book
Legal Defense Fund (http://www.cbldf.org). The SPX anthology is one of
the few major anthologies in the American comic market that welcomes
outside submissions.

The deadline for submissions is June 15, 2004.

The three-day SPX, North America’s premier alternative comic-book
festival, returns to Bethesda, MD on October 1-3, 2004.

SPX 2004 will bring together more than 200 artists and publishers to
meet their readers, booksellers, distributors, and each other. Fan
attendance is expected to surpass 2,000. SPX 2004 will be open to the
public from 3pm until 8pm on Friday, 10/1; from 10am until 7pm on
Saturday, 10/2 and from 11am until 5pm on Sunday, 10/3.
