San Antonio Spurs' veteran star Tim Duncan is a known fan of The Punisher. Not only does he sport Frank Castle's skull logo on his knee brace, he also dressed up as the character for Halloween. According to Spurs Nation, Duncan will get to meet the Marvel antihero in October on a special variant cover by Mike Choi for San Antonio comic shop Heroes and Fantasies. The cover features Duncan as an auto mechanic handing over the keys to a car, which sits in the background, with one of his NBA Championship rings on full display. A physical version of the car has been made by BlackJack Speed Shop and will be auctioned off to benefit a local San Antonio charity.

The variant is retailer-specific, meaning that it will only be available through Heroes and Fantasy's physical location and online store.

Duncan has a long-standing affection for comics, as outlined by Geeks and Cleats, especially with his knee braces, which have been known to feature both Deadpool and the Punisher insignia.
