Spider-Man is about to become all about the Multiverse in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. New Spider-Man movies always mean new toys, but there are nearly infinite dimensions of Spider-Man action figures out there already from a variety of toy companies. Some of them are very rare and very expensive.

Hundreds of Spider-Man figures have been produced over the years, from Hasbro, LEGO, Funko, and many more. Some of them gain value with time. Some of them command a hefty premium right of the gate, thanks to their limited nature. The values in this list are based on typical eBay auction prices, and are a rough average of the values of the various available conditions of the figures (from loose and in good condition to complete-in-package and in mint/near-mint condition).

10 FAO Schwarz Spider-Man "Strange Transformations" Action Figure Set — $100

FAO Schwarz exclusive Spider-Man "Strange Transformations"

Toy Biz produced thousands of Marvel Comics action figures in the '90s and early 2000s. Some of them are quite common, and some quite rare. Depending on the collector, some can be of high interest to modern collectors.

The Strange Transformations action figure set, exclusive to FAO Schwartz in the late '90s, featured two popular versions of Spider-Man. One was Spider-Man half covered in the alien symbiote that would become Venom, and the other was the Cosmic Spider-Man.

9 Marvel Legends "Pizza Spidey" — $100

Hasbro took over the Marvel license from Toy Biz in the early 2000s. They've carried on the proud tradition of Marvel Legends, highly detailed and articulated action figures, including the incredible run of 80th Anniversary Marvel figures.

One of their all-time best figures is the "Pizza Spidey" version of Spider-Man. This figure appeared in 2015 as part of the Hobgoblin Build-A-Figure wave and remains very popular and elusive.

8 Marvel Legends Spider-Man 2099 — $150

Marvel Legends Spider-Man 2099

Pizza Spidey shipped alongside this figure, the Miguel O'Hara 2099 version of Spider-Man. As highly sought after as the previous figure was, this one is more so.

Spider-Man 2099 also came with a piece of the Hobgoblin, one of the best Marvel Legends Build-A-Figures. This is one of the few examples of a Spidey 2099 action figure, which is what makes it so interesting. Spider-Man 2099 is a lot like Peter Parker, but different too, making him an exciting addition to the larger Spider-verse.

7 Secret Wars Spider-Man — $250

Before Toy Biz or Hasbro, there was Mattel. Mattel created the first big action figure line for Marvel in 1984, with the Secret Wars line. This line of toys was based on the massive Marvel crossover at the time. One of the most popular figures, not surprisingly, was Spider-Man.

By today's standards, the figure isn't that great, with limited articulation and soft sculpting. But it remains popular and will set collectors back a pretty penny for a packaged version.

6 8" Mego Spider-Man — $200

Mego Spider-Man

Mego introduced the first true Spider-Man action figures in the 1970s. These classic toys were very similar to the original 12" G.I. Joe action figures, which were doll-like in construction with interchangeable outfits.

Variants in the packaging exist, which can alter the value somewhat. Some were carded or enclosed in boxes. Different box art also distinguished the varying packaging Mego used throughout the line. The 8" inch line of figures was extremely popular, only undone by the cosmic success of Star Wars action figures from Kenner in 1978 and beyond.

5 12″ Mego Spider-Man Action Figure — $450

One of the rarest pieces from the Mego line is the 12" Spider-Man figure with Spiderweb. This is a larger figure than the typical 8" Mego one, which was one of the best Spider-Man action figures ever. It came in a few different styles of packaging, including a blister card and enclosed box.

Mego experimented with a variety of different scales during this era. Once Star Wars came into the picture, they tried some 3 and 3/4" scale action figure lines, but none of them stuck.

4 Spider-Man Classics Streetlight Spider-Man — $500+

Spider-Man Classics Streetlight Spider-Man

The forerunner of the Marvel Legends line was Spider-Man Classics. This line then ran concurrently with Legends in the early 2000s from Toy Biz. Some of the rarest figures from this period originate from this line. One of them is the "Street Light Spider-Man."

This version of the character is a repaint of an earlier version, based on the art of Todd McFarlane, one of the greatest Spider-Man artists of the Modern Age.

3 Spider-Man Legendary Scale Figure By Sideshow Collectibles — $4,500

Some figures are expensive from the get-go. That's certainly true of Sideshow Collectibles' Legendary Scale Spider-Man, which was a hybrid of sorts between an action figure and a statue. The figure included a real fabric costume and interchangeable eyes.

Sideshow Collectibles is well-known for its extremely detailed and lifework figures, which do come with a premium. They often cost a few hundred dollars at retail, but prices will skyrocket quickly as they did with Spider-Man.

2 Funko Pop Metallic Spider-Man SDCC Exclusive — $4,500

Funko Pop Metallic Spider-Man SDCC Exclusive

Funko has grown into a huge segment of collecting in the last decade. Part of their appeal comes in the form of very limited edition figures, like this metallic version of Spider-Man.

He was introduced at San Diego Comic-Con in 2011 and limited to only 480 pieces. That makes him exceedingly rare. A regular version shipped to retailers, but all eyes are on this, which only gets more expensive as time goes on.

1 San-Diego Comic-Con Lego Spider-Man — $5,800

One of the all-time rarest and most expensive Spider-Man action figures is also one of the smallest. The San Diego Comic-Con 2013 Spider-Man was a Marvel Super Heroes promotional set with just one Spidey minifig.

Spider-Man was given to attendees who won the daily raffle at the convention and came on a unique blister card (LEGO mini-figs typically only come with larger and equally valuable sets). The value of the figure is astronomical if it can be found.
