The Marvel animated series Spider-Woman follows hero Jessica Drew fighting crime as her alter-ego, Spider-Woman. Perhaps the most bizarre episode of the series revolves around Jessica, her nephew Billy and photographer Jeff taking a trip to the Bermuda Triangle, where they inadvertently discover an island populated by dinosaurs. The episode, "The Lost Continent," begins with the military trying to track down some missing jets that disappeared over the Bermuda Triangle. In an attempt to solve the bizarre mystery, Jessica and crew pass through an invisible force field and come upon what is described as a "prehistoric island" where all the other ships and planes have clearly crashed.

Quickly thereafter, while crossing a bridge, the gang sees a T-Rex looming in the forest. After a fairly lackluster response to seeing the monstrous beast, they try to get back to their aircraft. But low and behold, a Stegosaurus is waiting for them on the other side of the dilapidated bridge. As Jessica is unable to transform into Spider-Woman in front of her friends, Jeff decides that "someone’s got to stop those Mesozoic menaces," and if not him, then who? While he hurls useless insults at the dinosaurs, the T-Rex uses his tiny arms to grab ahold of Jessica, tromping off as she lies completely reactionless in his grasp. For reasons unclear, the Stegosaurus then snaps the rope connecting the bridge, leaving Jessica’s friend in dire peril.

At this point, Jessica finally seems to realize that perhaps it might be a good opportunity to transform into Spider-Woman. She swiftly lassoes the T-Rex before incapacitating the beast, then saves her friends just in the nick of time. After Spider-Woman makes her exit, a group of cavemen ambush the crew and beam them away with a laser. Jessica returns with her secret identity re-hidden and her high heels back on only to find her friends missing.

Using her spider senses, she discovers where they are. After proclaiming that she "hasn’t got a moment to lose," she nonchalantly walks off to rescue them. Meanwhile, Jeff and Billy are taken to a cave occupied by scientist Dr. Morrison, who apparently disappeared several decades ago. To keep everyone away from his island, he uses mind control on the cave-people to attack Spider-Woman. After losing the battle, Spider-Woman and her friends are taken to the cave dungeon, where they meet everyone else who has disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle.

As Dr. Morrison is desperate to stop anyone from discovering his island, he decides that his best course of action is to launch a full-fledged attack on New York ships using his band of cave-dwelling miscreants. This plan involves the cave-people piloting bright red jets that use laser-power to turn the oncoming planes and ships into stone. Spider-Woman then uses her powers to break out of the prison before bringing down the caveman manned jets.

Just when it seems that Spider-Woman may have defeated the cavemen, Dr. Morrison uses the biggest laser of all to take control of the dinosaurs themselves, who promptly go marching off to battle. He then appears out of nowhere to inform Spider-Woman that his dinosaurs have somehow arrived in New York and are already wreaking havoc on the city. However, Spider-Woman outsmarts Morrison by trapping him in a massive web, thereby freeing the dinosaurs from his mind control. The dinosaurs then high tail it out of the city and seemingly head back to their home island.

The episode ends with several quips between Jessica and her friends. Her alter-ego remains a secret and the world is safe again. Dinosaurs may be alive and well on one specific island apparently easily accessed from New York City, but that does not matter, and life will continue as it always did.
