The next addition to Hot Toys’ Spider-Verse collection is the dimension-traveling Spider-Woman, more commonly known as Spider-Gwen, from the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse movie.
The Spider-Gwen Collectible Figure was announced on Hot Toys’ Facebook page on Tuesday. Her hair is longer on one side than the other, a style she sports due to an accident that happened early in the film. The figure comes with a masked and unmasked sculpt with different sets of eyes for a wide range of expressions.
The action figure's black and white costume includes precise details such as her teal ballet slippers and pink web-patterned patches. Additional accessories include Spider-Gwen’s mask, smartphone, physics book, mirror case, webbing and a 1/6th scale collectible figure of Spider-Ham.
Gwen Stacy was voiced by Hailee Steinfeld in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The film, directed by Peter Ramsey, Bob Persichetti and Rodney Rothman, was a hit with audiences and even won an Oscar for Best Animated Feature.
Into the Spider-Verse centers on the struggles of teenager Miles Morales, who is learning how to be the next Spider-Man. Gwen Stacy, Peter Parker and other spider-themed superheroes from different dimensions aid him in saving New York City. Each Spider-Man has their own story and history, and Gwen Stacy's no exception, being her dimension's one and only Spider-Woman.
