Earlier this week, a large number of individuals dressed as Spider-Man invaded the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus.According to The Daily Tar Heel, the university's student newspaper, between 40 and 60 individuals appeared in the Davis Library, the university's campus library, after 10 p.m. Videos taken by students who were present were posted on social media, showing members of the group typing on library computers, standing on tables and pantomiming shooting webs from their wrists. The group would make their way around other areas in Chapel Hill including Carolina Square, as well as the Robert B. House Undergraduate Library.RELATED: Sony Teases Spider-Verse News in Cryptic Tweet

It was later confirmed that the event was organized by Henry McDonald, a senior member of the university's chapter of the Sigma Chi fraternity, who wanted to celebrate Halloween. McDonald told The Daily Tar Heel that the majority of the costumed individuals were friends of his and members of the fraternity.

"There were easily 40 to 60 of us and my original plan was to go onto campus and squirt people with webs," McDonald told the paper.

The costumed individuals decided to keep their identities a secret by refusing to remove their masks. When asked about their identities, they said they were Peter Parker.

McDonald would tease a return of the Sigma Chi fraternity's costumed antics, telling The Daily Tar Heel, "I will tell you that you should probably look out for us at Benny's on the night of Halloween."
