Though the Web-Head has been a part of many different groups in his time as a character, there have definitely been some teams where he has had a far greater impact. Looking at some of the biggest and greatest teams to feature the Web-Slinger to date, here is our list of the top 10 teams Spider-Man has been a part of.

10 Heroes For Hire

Though characters like Luke Cage and Iron Fist are typically thought of when fans think of the Heroes for Hire, there was actually a point where Spider-Man was also on the team. Alongside a few other new additions to the team, it is easy to see why many are not as familiar with the Web-Head’s service on this team.

With a bunch of other members on the team and brief time served on it, it isn’t exactly the most defining chapter in Spider-Man’s overall history. Likewise, though this may not feature some of the best Spidey interactions around, there are still some nice, fun moments with the character, landing the Heroes for Hire safely on this list.

9 Team Iron Man

Iron Mand and Spider-Man Civil War

During Marvel’s popular Civil War event series, Spider-Man proved to be one of the more interesting plot points thanks to his relationship with both Tony Stark and Captain America. Starting on Iron Man’s side, Spidey proved to be one of Tony’s biggest supporters when he publicly revealed his identity to the whole world.

With a sleek new “Iron Spider” suit as well, the character made for a very important addition to Tony’s team. Because of this, one can imagine why Tony felt so betrayed when Peter tried to switch sides. Considering the circumstances though, Spider-Man’s place on this team marks one of the more important chapters in his life, until it was eventually rebooted.

8 Team Cap (Secret Avengers)

After realizing that siding with Tony Stark was a mistake, Spider-Man decided to switch sides to join Captain America. Like with his role on Team Iron Man, Spidey proved to be equally as important on team Cap.

Not only did this trigger a massive shift in the narrative, but it also served as a bit of a wakeup call for several other heroes on both sides. Furthermore, Spider-Man himself changed much more after joining Team Cap, becoming much more serious and even a bit darker. Eventually, the remainder of this team would come together to form a new Secret Avengers, continuing to involve Spidey in a way that really highlighted just how big he is in the overall scope of the Marvel universe.

7 Mighty Avengers

For a very brief time, Spider-Man was actually part of the Mighty Avengers team that was led by Luke Cage. However, it wasn’t actually Peter Parker on the team, but rather Doctor Octopus in Peter Parker’s body.

Going by the Superior Spider-Man at the time, Ock forced his way onto the team after being placed on probation from the main Avengers. Likewise, he didn’t last terribly long, leaving the series after 5 issues simply because of the nature of Doc Ock as a character. Though Peter’s mind was eventually restored, this still marks for a rather intriguing time in the Wall-Crawler’s life.

6 The Daily Bugle

While Spider-Man himself wasn’t a part of The Daily Bugle’s team, Peter Parker still played a massive role as a member of their staff, with the staff also playing a massive role in Peter’s life. Not only did Peter work there for years selling photos of himself as Spider-Man, but he also saw several friends and enemies come about through the publisher.

While they are exactly a high-profile team of superheroes, The Daily Bugle has had one of the largest impacts on Peter’s life overall. Even when he isn’t working there, the Bugle or people working there seem to find some way to continually play a role in his life. For better or worse, the team at The Daily Bugle is easily one of the most important teams Spider-Man has ever been a part of.

5 X-Men

Despite the fact that Peter’s powers aren’t mutant-based, he has still served as a member of the X-Men several times in the past. Likewise, Peter also has mostly positive relations with most members of the X-Men, making him a welcome part of either series whenever either needs to team up.

At one point though, Spider-Man actually taught younger mutants as a professor at the Jean Grey School, marking an interesting point in the character’s history. However, with a lot of scientific, teaching, and superheroing experience under his belt already, he definitely made for a fitting choice.

4 Avengers

Likewise, though he isn’t fit for every mission the team goes on, Peter Parker’s character makes him more valuable to the team in ways that go far beyond his powers alone.

3 Web-Warriors

As part of the ever-popular Spider-Verse event, Peter Parker played a particularly important role within the formation of the Web-Warriors. In order to combat the Inheritors, Spider-Men from all across the multiverse were needed to take them down.

While Peter has had a smaller impact on this team in relation to others, seeing a bunch of Spider-Men all fighting together is simply just very cool. Furthermore, the team serves as a sort of celebration of the Spider-Man character in general, making it easy to see why it ranks a bit higher than other teams on this list.

2 Fantastic Four

1 New Avengers

Following the events of Avengers: Disassembled, Spider-Man joined the team as part of the newly formed New Avengers. Alongside other characters like Iron Man, Captain America, and Wolverine, Spider-Man once again felt right at home within the series.

Not only did Peter make a great addition among the other characters of the series, but he really got the chance to shine among other big names as well. Consisting of such popular characters, it is easy to see why the earlier days of this run were so successful.
