Spider-Man Web site goes dark

Sony Pictures has temporarily pulled the plug on the official Spider-Man Web site. The move follows the studios request to have all copies of the Spider-Man teaser trailer and poster returned to the studio.

A spokesperson at Sony told CBR News the move is only temporary and the Web site is being refitted with new artwork. They expect to have the site reopened very quickly, possibly as soon as tomorrow. The spokesperson also emphasized their current concern is only regarding the images of the World Trade Center in the teaser images and that recent developments have not affected the movie or its May 2002 release date.
