The latest release of figures includes new additions to the previously revealed Retro Spider-Man line that revisits the classic '90s animated series, while also including new '90s heroes like War Machine in his original armor and a villain from the X-Men's biggest '90s storyline that we'll be taking a closer look at today.

War Machine

While James "Rhodey" Rhodes appeared in the comics and began wearing the Iron Man armor in the '80s, he didn't receive his own unique armor as War Machine until the early '90s, which was quickly launched into his own comic series while also appearing in the '90s Iron Man animated series.

The Deluxe Marvel Legends 6-inch War Machine figure announced today includes an alternate unmasked head (featuring Rhodey's '90s hairstyle, of course) and a number of additional weapon attachments and accessories to make this the ultimate retro War Machine figure.

Age of Apocalypse

One of the X-Men's greatest villains is the eternal mutant known as Apocalypse, who starred in the hit '90s crossover event known as Age of Apocalypse, which saw an alternate Marvel universe develop without Charles Xavier and ruled by the genocidal fist of Apocalypse.

The newest X-Men figure announced today will bring the amazingly detailed AoA version of Apocalypse to the Marvel Legends collection, just in time to join the previously-announced waves of AoA figures like Nate Grey and Sunfire.

Spider-Man

Marvel Legends return to the '90s features a number of Spider-Man-related characters both from the comics and the animated series, and the highly articulated Retro Spider-Man figure leads the wave with nostalgic Toy Biz packaging and alternate mask and hand accessories.

Fans can pick up the entire Marvel Legends Retro Spider-Man wave that includes the figures featured below along with Peter Parker, Gwen Stacy (with alternate MJ Watson head), and Spidey villain Electro, which is expected to hit stores in September.

Green Goblin, Daredevil and More!

Spider-Man's arch-nemesis Green Goblin also gets a new retro figure that features the villain in his classic costume as seen in Spider-Man: The Animated Series. The figure features an unmasked Norman Osborn head, Goblin Glider, and fiery Pumpkin Bomb.

Spider-Man won't be the only hero included in the newest wave as he is joined by friend and ally Daredevil, though he is wearing his short-lived but unforgettable outfit from the '90s, which includes an unmasked Matt Murdock head, along with costume specific-weapons and additional hand options.
