Tom Holland has revealed that there have been discussions in the past relating to a possible remake of Robert Zemeckis' beloved classic, Back to The Future. The Spider-Man: Far From Home actor was recently featured in a viral DeepFake video, along with Avengers co-star Robert Downey Jr., which reimagined a scene from Zemeckis' 1985 hit film but with the Marvel stars playing the roles of Marty McFly and Dr. Emmett Brown.

Holland opened up about the possibility of playing McFly in a real remake in an interview with BBC Radio 1. "I'd be lying if I said there hadn't been conversations in the past about doing some sort of remake," he admitted, "But that film is the most perfect film, or one of the most perfect films," adding that it was one that could "never be made better."

Holland then talked to BBC Radio about the recent viral video, lightheartedly saying, "If Downey and I could just shoot that one [DeepFake] scene that they remade, for fun, he could pay for it because he's got loads of money," He later continued, "I think we owe it to DeepFake because they did such a good job." Holland concluded by saying he would "speak to Robert and see if we can try and recreate something."

Back to the Future and its sequels continue to be a beloved trilogy. In regards to a remake, no plans have been officially announced. Both Zemeckis and writer Bob Gale have said in the past that they want to leave the Back to The Future franchise alone.
