Spider-Man: No Way Home actor Tom Holland said he'll be taking a break from acting following the release of his next project.

In an interview with CinePop, Holland was asked if he'd be returning to Spider-Man after his upcoming role as Nathan Drake in Uncharted. "I am going back to shoot a TV show for Apple which I'm really excited about," Holland replied. "It's a very, very challenging role written by the amazing Akiva Goldsman, and I think the script is some of the best I've ever read, so I'm really, really excited to do that. But I can confidently say, after I finish that TV show, I will be taking a break." He did not provide any details about just how long that break would be, and it's possible it will be quite short.

The Apple project to which Holland is making reference in the interview is The Crowded Room. In that show, which is an anthology series, he'll play Billy Milligan, who was acquitted of crimes in the '70s due to a diagnosis of Dissociative Identity Disorder (then known as Multiple Personality Disorder). The 10-part series does not have a release date at this time.

Holland is an actor best known for his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His next movie is Uncharted, which is based on the video game series of the same name. Directed by Ruben Fleischer, Uncharted sees Drake teaming up with Sully Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) to retrieve the lost treasure of Magellan. Early reviews for Uncharted put the movie at 41 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Holland's latest turn as Spider-Man came in No Way Home, which released late last year. In that film, Peter enlisted the help of Doctor Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to re-hide his identity after it was exposed to the world by Quentin Beck/Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) at the end of 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home. That movie has proven a great success for Marvel Studios and Sony, earning rave reviews from critics and breaking numerous box office records.

Following the release of No Way Home, Marvel Studios and Sony claimed they were working on the character's MCU future. However, producer Amy Pascal has also said those plans are not locked in. Additionally, earlier this month, Holland said he's still not clear just what that entails at this point and said nothing is set in stone quite yet.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is in theaters now, while Uncharted hits theaters on Feb. 18.
