Christopher Daniel Barnes, known for lending his voice to Peter Parker in Spider-Man: The Animated Series, has expressed his interest in joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a supervillain the upcoming Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.

"I would like to play Nightmare in Doctor Strange," Barnes confessed during a MARVEL Actors Panel at the Wizard World Virtual Experiences for Fandom event. He explained, "It's a fascinating character, and I think it would be a lot of voice over and CGI." However, Barnes added, "Of course, they wouldn't hire me," before going on to say, "But that's what I would love to do. It's dark, it's psychological, it's interesting, and it's a very, very wicked character."

As an inter-dimensional entity with the ability to draw power from the psychic energies of the subconscious minds of dreaming beings, Nightmare has been a major villain, facing off against the likes of both Doctor Strange and Ghost Rider throughout his history.

Directed by Sam Raimi, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Elizabeth Olsen. The film is currently scheduled to hit theaters on March 25, 2022.
