Marvel's Devil's Reign sees Man-Thing inhabit a new Spider-Man suit, meaning the familiar outfit is looking a bit more swampy than usual.

In Devil's Reign: Superior Four #3, Doctor Otto Octavius is seen conversing with a sentient plant-like creature that eventually grows into its own version of Man-Thing. The version has a different look than how the creature has appeared in past comics, though -- by the end of the issue, it dawns a Spider-Man outfit and is seen swinging through the city with some vines extruding out of its arms.

Octavius found himself stranded in prison at the end of Devil's Regin: Superior #2 after he was betrayed by a team of multidimensional versions of himself being led by Supreme Ock. Having his metal arms ripped from his body during the battle, Octavius meets the still-growing Man-Thing during his time behind bars. Octavius asks the creature to help him take down Supreme Ock, which then causes Man-Thing to bond with him in a painful-looking manner.

With Man-Thing then giving Octavius some new leaf-like arms, they find Supreme Ock -- who, at that point, dawns a Victor Von Doom outfit -- right as he's betraying the other Ock variants. The four Ocks reunite and defeat Supreme Ocks in battle. Once it's over, they toss Supreme Ock aside and step into a portal that takes them to the Baxter Building on Earth-616.

Once arriving, Octavius reattaches his metal arms and separates himself from the Man-Thing creature. Rather than killing it, he opens a portal and takes it to Fresh Fond City in Earth-2902. Before leaving, Octavius notes that his "fate is entwined with this paradoxical being now and forever."

On Earth-2902, the Man-Thing creature begins rapidly growing into a new being altogether. "I was wrong to provoke the multiverse," it says. "I wasn't ready. Perhaps I have radically altered. my own destiny. Perhaps I did nothing more than cast a pebble into the ocean. Perhaps there is no position from which the entire multiverse is observable. Or I am not yet superior to the ceaseless loop. For now, I can only endeavor to intervene with calculated risk. My actions may not replace what was lost. But no step a man takes toward defining a new reality is too meager to count."

As the new Man-Thing Spider-Man swings away, a pedestrian down below then calls out and says that he loves "the fresh look, Spidey!"

Man-Thing first appeared in Savage Tales #1 in 1971. The humanoid swamp monster was featured in several series and standalone adventures over the years, including Adventures into Fear and 2021's Curse of the Man-Thing. The character was featured in a 2005 film called Man-Thing directed by Brett Leonard and starring Conan Stevens.

Devil's Reign: Superior Four #3 comes from writer Zac Thompson, artist Davide Tinto, color artist Matt Milla, letterer VC's Ariana Maher and cover artist Ivan Sharvin. The issue is on sale now from Marvel Comics.
