Before he swings into Sony and Marvel's Spider-Man franchise reboot, Tom Holland will join Charlie Hunnam, Sienna Miller and Robert Pattinson in "The Lost City of Z."

Written and directed by James Gray, the adaptation of David Grann’s bestselling 2009 novel centers on Col. Percy Fawcett, who disappeared in the 1920s while searching the Amazon jungle for a mythical city he claims to have discovered during a previous expedition.

The film began production today in Belfast before it moves in the fall to Colombia. Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner are producing through Plan B Entertainment.

The 19-year-old Holland, who recently wrapped his role in "Captain America: Civil War," will next be seen with Chris Hemsworth in the Ron Howard disaster-thriller "In the Heart of the Sea."
