A new trailer for Sony's animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse lays out more of the film's plot, and introduces Peter Parker, Spider-Gwen and Green Goblin.

Set in the universe of Miles Morales, the trailer quickly establishes how Miles gets his spider-powers and meets the Peter Parker of his universe during the hero's fight with the Green Goblin. Fortunately, Miles has someone to help him with his new abilities: the Peter Parker of another universe.

Although Miles is nervous about saving the world and living up to Peter's legacy, Peter imparts him with some wise advice: "Don't do it like me, do it like you." Interspersed with all the action and wisdom are scenes highlight Miles' family life, mostly how his father Jefferson is a cop and wastes no time in using his status to embarrass Miles in front of his classmates.

The end of the trailer, though, contains the biggest surprise of them all: Spider-Gwen shows up to save Miles, and then goes swinging in the forest with him and Peter. "How many Spider-people are there?" Miles asks. "Save it for Comic-Con, kid," is all Peter can say.

In theaters this Christmas, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse stars Shameik Moore, Brian Tyree Henry, Jake Johnson, Mahershala Ali, Hailee Steinfeld and Liev Schreiber.
