The various versions of Spider-Man from across the Marvel multiverse have spent the last decade working surprisingly close together. Shortly after numerous Spider-Heroes united in the Spider-Verse, the events of Secret Wars brought them back together and set up their continued team-ups and alliances with the heroes of the core-Marvel Universe.
Now, the Marvel Cinematic Universe seems to be heading towards its own version of a multiverse-level event. This means that there is a chance then that the cinematic Spider-Verse heroes might be able to follow in the footsteps of their comic book counterparts.
How the Spider-Verse Was Involved in Marvel's Secret Wars
During the build-up to Secret Wars and the death of the greater Marvel Multiverse, the events of Spider-Verse united many of the Spider-Men and Spider-Women in existence against the Inheritors. After defeating the villains and preserving the Web of Life and Destiny, the heroes returned to their respective home realities with a sense of unity and collective heroism. This benefited them when the multiverse was destroyed and reconstructed by Doctor Doom in Secret Wars as the patchwork planet dubbed Battleworld. One of the domains of the realm was Arachnia, a location similar to modern New York City and the primary setting for Spider-Verse. In this version of reality, Peter Parker gave up being Spider-Man after the death of Gwen Stacy and Norman Osborn went on to become the Mayor of the city.
Many of the multiverse Spider-Heroes -- such as the Anya Corazon of Earth-616, the Captain Britain-aligned Billy Braddock, the Indian-born Paviitr Prabhakar, the Noir Universe version of Peter Parker, and the Ghost-Spider Gwen Stacy -- found themselves reborn in this realm with only flashes of their former lives in their minds. But their adaptability and experience working together made it easier for them to come together as a group. After coming together and electing to figure out the mystery of their disjointed memories, the group ended up working alongside the Peter Parker of this world to fight against Osborn's rule -- even rescuing Spider-Ham, who'd been captured by Osborn and extensively experimented on.
How the Spider-Verse Could Enter the MCU
Osborn's research into the multiversal spiders indicated the damage to the multiverse through the Web of Life and Destiny, and also gave the collective Spider-Heroes a united purpose in protecting Arachnia following Osborn's defeat. Secret Wars serving as the inspiration for the MCU's next overarching storyline -- and the inclusion of Incursions in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness suggests that the upcoming adaptation will be of the 2015 version of Secret Wars. If that's the case, then there's a chance that the Marvel Multiverse is looking at a pretty extensive shake-up. However, this could be the ideal way to incorporate some or all of the prominent heroes from Sony's Spider-Man films into the MCU's next big tale.
The cinematic versions of Spider-Man have already had some pretty major team-ups, with Spider-Man: No Way Home affirming a connection between different live-action variants of the hero. There's no reason the same couldn't apply to the heroes from the animated films. An adaptation of the Secret Wars: Spider-Verse storyline could be an ideal way to insert some of the assorted Spider-Heroes into the grander events of Secret Wars, allowing characters like Spider-Woman to play into the event. It could even be used as an inspiration for a way to incorporate the animated Miles Morales into the Secret Wars plot-line, setting up the kind of role he filled in the original comic as one of the heroes responsible for helping bring down Doctor Doom.
