In addition to being an Academy Award-winning hit, Sony Pictures Animation's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is also packed to the brim with Easter eggs. Filmmakers included so many nods to the legacy of Spider-Man, and Marvel Comics, that more are still being discovered, even months after release.In one blink-and-miss-it moment, a young Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, seemingly makes a cameo in a scene involving his future nemesis, the Kingpin.RELATED: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Almost Featured Another Marvel HeroIn Into the Spider-Verse, Wilson Fisk tries to use a multiverse-traversing super-collider to reunite with his wife and son, Vanessa and Richard, after he indirectly caused their deaths in his own reality. During the film's climax, Fisk battles Miles Morales in a train car created by the super-collider, and attempts to kill the newly minted Spider-Man. During this scuffle, Vanessa and Richard appear at the other end of the car, looking disappointed in Wilson's actions.As eagle-eyed Twitter user @DrWheetos points out, during this sequence, Richard can be seen briefly transforming into a younger version of Matt Murdock.

Of course, Kingpin is more synonymous with Daredevil than he is with Spider-Man. While the crime boss was introduced as a member of the wall-crawler's rogues gallery, he became the archenemy of the Guardian of Hell's Kitchen.

Not only has the never-ending battle between the Kingpin of Crime and the Man Without Fear been the focus of such iconic comic storylines as "Born Again," it as also made its way to live-action on more than one occasion, first in the 2003 Daredevil film, and again in Netflix's 2015 Daredevil television series.

Directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey and Rodney Rothman, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse stars Shameik Moore, Brian Tyree Henry, Jake Johnson, Mahershala Ali, Hailee Steinfeld, Liev Schreiber, Luna Lauren Velez, Lily Tomlin, Nicolas Cage, John Mulaney and Kimiko Glenn. The film arrives today on digital HD, and March 19 on Blu-ray, UltraHD, 4K and DVD.
