Sony's Spider-Man spinoff Silver and Black just nabbed a new pair of writers in Lindsey Beer and Geneva Robertson-Dworet.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony hired Beer and Robertson-Dworet to tackle the previously announced Silver Sable/Black Cat movie. The duo will take over writing duties from director Gina Prince-Bythewood, who penned the prior draft, and Thor: Ragnarok’s Chris Yost and Westworld co-creator Lisa Joy, who worked on earlier drafts of the film.
Silver and Black marks the latest noteworthy project for the duo, with Beer coming off of Lionsgate's Chaos Walking and Robertson-Dworet having previously tackled Captain Marvel for Marvel Studios. The film was previously thought to be headed into production next month, with casting expected to be announced relatively quickly. However, now that Sony has brought in Beer and Robertson-Dworet to tackle the script, it's possible that the film's initial production schedule may shift.
Along with her work on Chaos Walking, Beer also served as part of the Transformers writers room, while also working on King vs Godzilla and Quentin Tarantino’s R-rated Star Trek film. As for Robertson-Dworet, this will be her third female superhero project. Prior to Captain Marvel, she was announced as the writer for DC's Gotham City Sirens; she also penned the upcoming Tomb Rider reboot, which will hit theaters next month.
Scheduled to hit theaters on February 8, 2019, Silver and Black will be directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood. No additional casting details for the film have been released at this time.
