For a Guy Made Up Entirely of Sand, Sandman Sure Gets Deathly Ill a Lot

After a fight with Venom, Venom actually bit a big chunk out of Sandman and as we see in Peter Parker: Spider-Man #22 (by Paul Jenkins, Mark Buckingham and Dan Green), that bite has destabilized him and he is slowly falling apart...

He blames Spider-Man and tries to kill Spidey before he is totally too far gone, but in the end, he just fades away...

We see him end up as a beach...

Eventually, he reconstitutes himself.

Finally, in Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #308-309 by Chip Zdarsky and Chris Bachalo, Sandman is once again losing control of himself...

In the end (after a bunch of other shenanigans), it appears as though he is saved, but only as a non-human entity, which kind of sucks for him...

Thanks for the suggestion, Rob!
