Since Sony and Marvel have agreed on keeping Spider-Man in the MCU for the foreseeable future, we’ll be getting very used to this version of the superhero. However, we already got an awesome universe for Spidey back in the original live-action trilogy.

Although we still have several questions we might never get answers for, we can at least take heart from all the great moments in the series. This included the fighting sequences that were generally done to perfection, with the trilogy still lauded for their execution. Out of all those fight scenes, these 10 are those that delivered the hardest punch to the visual experience.

10 Sandman's Robbery

While Spider-Man had come across a lot of strange villains by this point, he was still not prepared to fight a guy made of sand. This is why, when the two fought, he had no idea how to put him away. As it happened, Sandman was caught trying to run away from the cops.

When nobody had any answers to his physiology, Spider-Man attempted to intervene, only to realize that all of his super strength meant squat against this enemy. Once he’d managed to use the busted doors of the armored vehicle as skates and returned to its back, Spider-Man had mere seconds before he was able to save the lives of the cops by throwing them out and creating a giant web to break their fall.

9 Taking Out Flash

The first time Peter realized he had developed powers was when he got to dole out what was coming to the bully Flash. After he accidentally knocked a food tray on the bully, a confrontation ensued. Rather than be beaten like he’d usually be, Peter surprised everybody.

When Flash attempted to box Peter’s daylights out, the latter displayed incredible flexibility by swiftly ducking the attacks and even having time to process them. He then made his single offensive move, which had the effect of knocking Flash back several feet and putting him out for good. Now that’s how you deal with a bully. Maybe we should all have a spider bite us?

8 Human-Spider Against Bone Saw

Peter’s inner geek made him choose a lame name like the Human-Spider to head to the ring, but his newfound powers allowed him to walk away with the win. Although he was underestimated by the huge wrestler called Bone Saw, the man came to regret it.

The fight started in Bone Saw’s favor, as he used a chair to smash Peter in a way that would’ve ended anybody who didn’t have the powers of a spider. Peter, though, employed the use of his kicks to blindside Bone Saw, before flinging the man behind and knocking him out cold using the cage that surrounded them.

7 New Goblin's Ambush

No, he’s not called the Hobgoblin if that’s what you’re thinking, as the film version went nameless. In this scene, Harry tried out his new powers by ambushing Peter and getting his revenge. However, it turned out to be more of a fight-chase.

Realizing he could bamboozle Harry, Peter swung into an alleyway where Harry had less room. And it worked, as Peter wasn’t manhandled around in the air as he was earlier on. Now having some breathing space, Peter took his shot by turning the New Goblin weaponry against its owner and threw the gadgets back at Harry. Eventually, he was able to blindside Harry and knock him out for good.

6 Doc Ock's Bank Robbery

Doctor Octopus vs Spider-Man

Full points to Aunt May for being the savior here, as her attack on Doc Ock ensured he wasn’t able to kill Spider-Man using a sneak attack. The bulk of the fight took place on the side of an office building, as Doc Ock used his mechanical arms to overwhelm Spider-Man.

By tossing around Aunt May, he also controlled the fight as Spider-Man repeatedly tried to save her. Still, they had an awesome contest as Spider-Man used debris and projectiles to counter the mechanical arms. Eventually, Doc Ock flung Aunt May herself away to escape while Spider-Man smartly used his webbing on her to pull himself forward and save Aunt May from death.

5 Putting Down The Symbiote

Not many give consideration that the Venom symbiote deserves, and Spider-Man 3’s version gets the most flak. However, its final round against Spider-Man was intense purely for being a game of wits. Here, Spider-Man figured out sonic sounds were the symbiote’s weakness.

To that end, he used the number of pipes around the vicinity to create a makeshift barrier against the symbiote, clanging the pipes loud enough for the creature to submit. Finally, he managed to kill it, and Eddie Brock inadvertently, by tossing a Goblin bomb into its heart and ending the threat once and for all.

4 Final Confrontation With Green Goblin

Spider-Man almost got half his face blasted off to begin this fight, as the Goblin threw one of his bombs at him. By that point, it was more of a curb stomp battle considering the Goblin beat Spider-Man down to a pulp.

However, the hero then came roaring back by unleashing all his might. Spider-Man’s fury was so great that he was able to pound out the Goblin’s helmet, and even pulled down a loose wall on the villain. When he clearly won the contest, Norman attempted to use the glider from behind, but only managed to impale and kill himself.

3 Avenging Uncle Ben Against Sandman

Black Spider-Man versus Sandman in the subway in Spider-Man 3.

If you ever want to know what a Spider-Man horror movie might look like then no look no further than his mauling of Sandman. This time empowered by the symbiote and his own vengeance, he handed out a beating Sandman would never forget.

Beginning his assault in the sewers, the two were knocked around below until they landed on a train track. Here, Spider-Man managed to punch even through sand, and rammed Sandman’s face into the train until there was barely any left. He then tried to outright kill him by filling the area with water and dissolving Sandman into nothingness.

2 Train Fight

Easily the most gorgeous and beautifully choreographed fight in the series, this one ended with Spider-Man heroically stopping the entire train from crashing. Before that, he and Dock Ock duked it out on top of the train.

This was complete with Spidey swinging on the road below to gain access back on the train, and using his webbing to save the people Doc Ock flung from inside the train. They would also fight all around the train as well as inside of it, as Spider-Man finally managed to understand how the mechanical arms worked.

1 Corrupted Peter Destroys Harry

What started out as a seemingly well-matched fight spiraled into the destruction of Harry Osbourne as Peter unloaded his wrath. Looking to seek revenge for manipulating Mary Jane, Peter arrived with the symbiote’s power in tow.

Initially, Harry was able to hold Peter off to an extent, before the latter went no-holds barred and threw his punches with the intention to cause permanent harm. When Harry realized he couldn’t beat Peter, he attempted to use his gadgets, only for Peter to throw him into the array of undetonated bombs. Finally, catching on quick to Harry’s sneak attack, Peter flung the bomb the former threw at him, causing it to explode and rip away half of Harry’s face.
