Following the announcement of a remastered release of Marvel's Spider-Man for the PlayStation 5 and the reveal that the game's version of Peter Parker was getting a new face model, John Bubniak -- the original face of Insomniac Games' Spidey -- took to Twitter to pen a short but heartfelt message.

Bubniak tweeted spider and heart emojis alongside the word "forever." He then followed this up with a tweet reading, "[Y]ou will all forever be in my heart. Bubniak provided the face model for Peter Parker in the original PlayStation 4 version of the game. For Marvel's Spider-Man Remasteredon the PS5, actor Ben Jordan will provide the face model for Peter. Insomniac has confirmed that Peter's voice, which was provided by Yuri Lowenthal (who also did motion capture) will remain unchanged.

The update to Peter's model has caused an uproar among some fans, prompting creative director Bryan Intihar to release a statement on Twitter. Please know we didn't make this decision/change lightly," Intihar wrote.

Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered will be available with Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales as part of the PlayStation 5 launch. New updates for Remastered include a targeted frame rate of 60FPS, as well as three new alternate costumes. One of these costumes was revealed to be the suit from 2012's The Amazing Spider-Man, which starred Andrew Garfield as the web-slinger. The addition of the Amazing suit means that all three Spider-Man film series will be represented in the game.

Developed by Insomniac Games and PlayStation Studios, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be available on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on Nov. 12th.
