A new trailer for Insomniac Games and PlayStation 4’s exclusive Spider-Man game has dropped, and it places the adventures of the Friendly Neighborhood Web-Head firmly in the Marvel Universe by featuring the homes of his fellow Avengers and Master of the Mystic Arts, Doctor Strange.

Swinging and swan diving through the New York skyline, Spider-Man passes Avengers Tower and the good doctor's Sanctum Sanctorum in the Village, all while fighting crime and exploring parts of the game’s open world format.

In the midst of the action and demos playing out in the trailer, J. Jonah Jameson -- this time portrayed as a call-in radio talk show host and unfortunately not played by J.K. Simmons -- conveys his displeasure with the web-slinger and his reckless acrobatics and self-absorbed nature.

Peter, pretending to be someone else over the phone, does what he can to convince Jonah of the contrary and add some balance to his old boss and editor’s vilifying. Calling in as “Peter Paterson,” he pleads in vain for Jameson to consider he might be too hard on Spider-Man, suggesting Spidey just needs vantage points for crime fighting.

When you factor in the classic banter between Peter and Jonah along with the eye-catching stunts, the trailer illustrates the possibilities in store for gamers who want their fix of web-slinging and exploring through the streets of New York City.

Marvel's Spider-Man for the PlayStation 4 goes on sale September 7.
