Spider-Man PS4 Game Adds Fan-Requested Sam Raimi Suit

Spider-Man (2002)

Insomniac Games has a "special holiday gift" for owners of Marvel's Spider-Man: the widely requested suit from director Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy. The suit is being released today and can be downloaded for free.

The developer unveiled the suit this morning in a tweet, alongside a surprise update for the game. Fans are sure to be pleased, as many have been lobbying the for inclusion of the costume. When the final DLC pack was revealed alongside the last three costumes, many were disheartened that the web-slinger was given a suit from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, but not the one from the movies starring Tobey Maguire. The game already paid homage to Spider-Man 2, but without the iconic costume.

Spider-Man fans took to the internet to criticize Insomniac for not releasing the suit. After being accused of not listening to players, the developer responded last week that, "Listening doesn’t mean we always will do what people tell us to. We hear you. Hearing doesn’t mean we always act or follow." While that seemed to indicate Insomniac had no intentions of release the "Raimi suit," this morning the developer delivered.

The Raimi suit has been released just in time, as the final DLC pack for the game, "Silver Lining," arriving on Friday.

Marvel's Spider-Man was developed by Insomniac Games and is available now on PlayStation 4.
