Marvel's Midtown High School might not be as prolific as the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters or My Hero Academia's U.A. Academy, but just like those schools, it has spawned a multitude of superheroes. While Midtown High is famous for being the place where Peter Parker went to school, Spider-Man isn't the only hero who spent his teenage years romancing its halls. In the years since Parker's graduation, several of his classmates have gone on to be heroes in their own right.

Some iterations of Spider-Man -- like the currently ongoing animated series Spider-Man -- just turn Midtown into the superhero school Horizon High. While many of Midtown High's heroes only fell into that world thanks to their proximity to Peter Parker, a surprising number of Peter's classmates went on to be fairly major heroes within the Marvel Universe.

AGENT VENOM (FLASH THOMPSON)

Agent-Venom-Avengers-Powerful

Eugene "Flash" Thompson was one of the first classmates of Peter's to appear, debuting alongside Peter in Stan Lee and Steve Ditko's Amazing Fantasy #15. Thompson always idolized Spider-Man and sought to be like him, even though he tormented Peter Parker in school. After he eventually grew out of his role as Peter's high school bully, Thompson appeared to be taking steps to be a hero in his own right, joining the military, only to lose both his legs.

Eventually. Flash was recruited into the military's Agent Venom program and accepted the alien symbiote as a weapon to help him become one step closer to his idol. As Agent Venom, Thompson fought demons, stopped mass murderers and even helped save the world on a few occasions. Even when Eddie Brock took back the symbiote, Flash took up the mantle of Agent Anti-Venom -- only to shortly die in the line of duty thereafter.

SILK (CINDY MOON)

Silk issue #4 cover

Although she didn't debut until Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos' Amazing Spider-Man #1 in 2014, Cindy Moon gained superpowers after being bitten by the same radioactive spider that bit Peter. It bit her on the ankle before dying altogether, granting her spider-powers, much like Parker. However, her powers proved to be a danger, since she immediately became a target of Morlun. Thanks to Ezekiel, who would later serve as mentor and enemy to Peter Parker, Cindy strapped down in a bunker to protect herself from Morlun.

Eventually, after Morlun's death, Peter found Cindy and freed her from the bunker, which led to Cindy setting out on her own to be the hero known as Silk, even taking part in the war against Morlun and his race of vampiric brethren in the Spider-Verse crossover.

JESSICA JONES

Since she debuted in Brain Machel Bendis and Michael Gaydos' Alias #1, Jessica Jones is an iconic superhero, Luke Cage's wife, a private investigator, arch-enemy to the Purple Man and Peter Parker's Midtown High classmate. Jessica, who was then Jessica Campbell, actually had a crush on the dorky Peter Parker, and she was also present for his fateful spider-bite.

Ultimately, Jessica would find herself with superpowers when her family crashed into a military vehicle. With her family dead, she spent a while in a coma. Taking the name of her new adoptive family, Jessica realized she could fly and had super-strength. It was shortly after she became a superhero, which ultimately led her to crossing paths with the Purple Man. Although she would eventually become a familiar face to the Avengers and Marvel's other heroes, Jessica endured years of traumas at the hands at the manipulative villain.

ALPHA (ANDREW MAGUIRE)

Alpha using electric powers in the Spider-Man comics

Unlike Peter Parker, Andrew Maguire -- whose name is inspired by Spider-Man actors Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire -- was not one of Midtown High's better students. When attending a demonstration at Horizon Labs performed by Peter Parker himself, an accident happened and Andrew gained super kinetic powers in Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos' Amazing Spider-Man #692.

Feeling somewhat responsible, Peter trained Alpha as a hero. However, he deemed Alpha too irresponsible with said powers and put a blocker on them. With a little help from the Superior Spider-Man, Alpha has gradually gained powers back and started fighting crime in Pittsburgh.

BLUEBIRD (SALLY AVRIL)

Bluebird from Marvel Comics

Sally Avril another one of Peter's first classmates, introduced in Lee & Ditko's Amazing Fantasy #15. Sally was a friend of Peter's growing up, but Sally wanted little to do with Peter once they entered high school. where she was focused on her crush Flash Thompson. From there, Sally's story is told in Kurt Busiek and Pat Oliffe's Untold Tales of Spider-Man, which hints at her unhappy ending.

Sally tries to take pictures of Spider-Man for The Daily Bugle, and she even learns Peter's secret identity when he is captured by Electro. But rather than reveal his identity to the world, Sally decides to become a heroic partner to the wall-crawler as Bluebird so Peter could just take her pictures and make her popular. What she lacked in super-powers, she made up for in improvised weaponry that she didn't fully understand how to use. When Spider-Man repeatedly tried to talk her out of being a hero, she ignored him. Ultimately, she ended up dying in a car accident after encouraging her friend Jason Ionello to speed a red light in order to reach a crime scene.
