The Spider-Man: No Way Home teaser trailer swiftly broke records, becoming the most-viewed trailer in a 24-hour window. The eagerly-awaited first look also prompted a flood of theories and analyses in the aftermath of its release, with fans breaking down and dissecting the footage, looking for hidden Easter eggs and cameos.

Speculation ran rampant that a pair of arms seen in the trailer belonged to Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock. However, this idea was ultimately debunked by an IMAX version of the trailer shown in theaters. Still, eagle-eyed viewers were quick to notice Tom Holland's Peter Parker sporting a shirt, tie and blazer virtually identical to an outfit originally worn by Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker in the opening act of 2007's Spider-Man 3. This allusion to a previous live-action Spider-Man came on the heels of rumors suggesting that Maguire and Andrew Garfield would reprise their roles as the web-slinger in the movie, which confirmed the presence of Alfred Molina's Doc Ock in the closing shot of the teaser.

Spider-Man: No Way Home stars Tom Holland and is directed by Jon Watts. The film swings into theaters on Dec. 17.
