Marvel dropped the official, full-length trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The official trailer for the Marvel Cinematic Universe's third Spider-Man film premiered at an exclusive fan event in Los Angeles on Nov. 16. The trailer features Spider-Man's greatest villains, including Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin, Alfred Molina's Otto Octavius/Doc Ock, Jamie Foxx's Electro, Sandman and Lizard. Along with the trailer's release, Spider-Man actor Tom Holland made an appearance at the event as well.

Ahead of the trailer's release, Sony and Marvel released a series of new movie posters to hype the fan event, with the most recent spotlighting both Holland's Spider-Man and Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange. This poster, along with another poster released prior, featured a glimpse of Green Goblin in the background as well. While the armor matches that worn by Dafoe in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man (2002), it was not confirmed who would be portraying Green Goblin in the MCU, but with the voice-over featured in the trailer, it is surely Dafoe reprising his role, along with Foxx's Electro from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Sandman from Raimi's Spider-Man 3.

This is the first time the world is seeing the second No Way Home trailer. However, stars Holland, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon got a first look prior to its release in a reaction video posted to Holland's Instagram. According to Batalon, there was one moment in the trailer that he believed would cause fans to "go crazy." Both Holland and director Jon Watts teased the grand scale of Spider-Man: No Way Home in the past, with Watts comparing the film to Avengers: Endgame. "We're definitely trying to be ambitious," Watts said in a recent interview with Empire.

"When I was first pitched the idea, I was like, 'Wow, that would be awesome if we could pull it off... But there's just no way it's going to work," Holland said in the same interview. "You're just not going to be able to get everyone to do what they need to do. It's just not going to happen.' But it did happen. And it's crazy."

The epic scope of No Way Home itself makes sense, as both Holland and the rest of the cast and crew are treating it "as the end of a franchise." He said, "I think if we were lucky enough to dive into these characters again, you'd be seeing a very different version. It would no longer be the Homecoming trilogy. We would give it some time and try to build something different and tonally change the films. Whether that happens or not, I don't know. But we were definitely treating [No Way Home] like it was coming to an end, and it felt like it."

The initial teaser trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home quickly broke records after its release in August 2021, becoming the most viewed trailer ever in just a 24-hour window, garnering nearly 355.5 million views in its first day online. The trailer itself confirmed the return of Alfred Molina's Dr. Otto Octavius/Doctor Octopus, who first appeared in Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, and teased the debut of Green Goblin to the MCU.

Spider-Man: No Way Home swings into theaters Dec. 17.
