News of a third Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer has quickly been debunked. The DisInsider reported that the British Board of Film Certification rated a third trailer for No Way Home set to release on Dec. 15, the day the Marvel movie comes out in the UK. But while it's not hard to imagine Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures getting people hyped for the movie during its week of release, it seems the report is erroneous, according to the BBFC.RELATED: Marvel Boss Says Spider-Man: No Way Home Proves Anything Is Possible Between Disney and Sony

The BBFC replied to a site on Twitter discussing the report by revealing that the particular trailer in question is one already released, and the Dec. 15 date is simply the film's UK release date. "Hi there, this is a trailer that has already been released for Screen X," the tweet reads. "The release date on the website is the release date for the film and not the trailer. We are updating our website to reflect this."

The first look at Spider-Man 3 arrived back in August and teased the multiversal chaos of the film with Peter Parker asking Doctor Strange for help erasing his secret identity from people's minds following the post-credits scene in Spider-Man: Far From Home. It also showed Alfred Molina coming back as Doctor Octopus and teased a number of other villains, including Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin.

In November, the full trailer for No Way Home dove even deeper into the story and confirmed the return of the Lizard, Sandman, and Jamie Foxx's Electro, who will get an updated costume. The trailer also provided a bigger glimpse into the film's plot, which will see Doctor Strange trying to take out the multiversal villains and Spidey attempting to save them.

With only a short time left until the film releases, anticipation has never been higher. No Way Home is projected to dominate the box office, setting new pandemic-era records. And the hype for Spider-Man 3 is rivaling Avengers: Endgame, with fans eager to see how the old characters will be integrated into the plot. Of course, others have worried that the dearth of story will drag down the film, similar to the third film in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy.

Still, audiences are anxious to see if Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will reprise their web-slinging roles. There have been plenty of teases, with Tom Holland recently teasing the former Spider-Men. But while lots of Spider-Man footage has been released thanks to various promos and TV spots, there's been no confirmation yet. While a third trailer could offer at least one more big surprise, it seems fans will instead have to wait for the film's release to see what all is involved.
