A new TV spot for Spider-Man: No Way Home teases the introduction of Michelle Jones/MJ's father. In a TV spot posted to Twitter by @Spider_Leaks, Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and MJ (Zendaya) are swinging through New York. When the former suggests going to MJ's house, she said that her father no longer likes him. This is, seemingly, the first actual tease for MJ's dad in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. At this time, though, it's not clear if MJ's father will actually appear in the film. Otherwise, the TV spot just focuses on Peter facing off against Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina) and other classic villains from elsewhere in the multiverse.RELATED: Who Is Spider-Man: No Way Home's Sixth Sinister Villain?

First appearing in 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming, MJ is initially one of Peter's classmates at Midtown School of Science and Technology. Eventually, she discovers that Peter is, in fact, Spider-Man, and the two eventually start dating. The character is a reinvention of, and reference to, Mary Jane Watson. Created by Stan Lee and John Romita Sr., that MJ has been one of Peter's longest standing love interests, having made her first full appearance in 1967's The Amazing Spider-Man #42.

No Way Home is a sequel to 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home. At the end of that film, Quentin Beck/Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) framed Peter for his death at the hands of one of E.D.I.T.H.'s drones using doctored footage and the Battle of London. Trailers for No Way Home make clear Peter will go to Doctor Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) in search of a spell to re-hide his secret identity. However, things will go awry, and the two will end up breaking open the multiverse.

Currently, the villains for No Way Home have a deep connection to the larger Spider-Man franchise, including the films that starred Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. Versions of the villains those two Spider-Men faced are set to take on Tom Holland's Peter, and there are even rumors Magurie and Garfield will show up in No Way Home. Still, at this time, those rumors have not been confirmed.

Directed by Jon Watts from a script by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, Spider-Man: No Way Home is set for release on Dec. 17. It is unclear when Holland will next reprise his role as Spider-Man after No Way Home releases.
