New reports indicate Spider-Man: No Way Home will introduce a version of the iconic villain group the Sinister Six -- minus one member. The Sinister Six has long antagonized Spidey with its ever-shifting roster of rogues. Naturally, fans have wanted to see some iteration of the group come to the big screen. And while there have been some failed attempts, many assume No Way Home will finally make it a reality. But while multiple returning villains have been confirmed with more rumored, the latest alleged details from the upcoming Marvel/Sony film claim the complete outfit won't be arriving on screen just yet.RELATED: Spider-Man: Tom Holland Explains Why He Hasn't Spoiled No Way HomeNoted scooper Daniel Rachtman posted on Twitter that Doctor Octopus, Electro, Sandman, Green Goblin, and the Lizard will serve as the villains of the film. Big Screen Leaks, meanwhile, claimed that rumors of Paul Giamatti's maligned Rhino will not be returning before stating that only five villains will appear.

Since word first broke that Alfred Molina would return as Doc Ock and Jamie Foxx would be playing some version of Electro, many fans have assumed a live-action Spider-Verse is in the cards for the third MCU Spider-Man film. But just as much talk has cropped up about the possibility of the Sinister Six finally coming to the big screen. Rumors quickly swirled of Willem Dafoe coming back as Green Goblin, and the first No Way Home trailer all but confirmed as much when a Goblin Bomb appeared followed by the villain's signature laugh.

As fans began dissecting the trailer, which prominently featured Doc Ock, electricity, moving sand, and a quick shot of something monstrous all seemed to point towards Electro (who has been confirmed but not yet seen), Sandman, and Lizard. A recent magazine cover also seemingly confirmed Sandman along with nods to Goblin, Ock, and Electro. Intriguingly, and countering the claims by the two scoopers, the cover also seemed to include a tease for Mysterio's return.

Merchandise for No Way Home has teased Mysterio's presence, though it could simply be that his death and subsequent reveal of Spidey's identity will serve as his only "appearance." As for why Marvel and Sony would include five villains and not completely introduce the entire group, it could be that the final member will be teased in an effort to set up the Sinister Six movie that is rumored to be in the works.

Spider-Man: No Way Home and an undetermined number of villains will arrive Dec. 17 in theaters.
