Two new magazine covers for Spider-Man: No Way Home seem to confirm that the Sinister Six will indeed be forming.

While the returns of Doctor Octopus and Electro have been known for some time, the first Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer teased the return of Green Goblin as well. Many also believe shots of Sandman and Lizard can be seen. And at least one set of merch from the film has teased Mysterio somehow coming back into the film. Today, Empire revealed the cover of its October issue and the subscriber-exclusive variant. The issue promises interviews from the cast along with director Jon Watts, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige, and producer Amy Pascal. But before those arrive, the two covers already seem to confirm the return of some familiar faces.

The main cover offers a look at Peter's new suit, though the trailer and various toys have also teased even more outfits for the wall-crawler. One of Doc Ock's arms and Pumpkin Bomb can also be seen, making it hard to ignore that Willem Dafoe's rumored return as Green Goblin is anything but guaranteed. And all around Spidey is plenty of blue electricity. While Jamie Foxx's reprisal of Electro has been known for a long time, fans have yet to see any glimpse of his character beyond numerous shots of electricity in the trailer.

More intriguing is the second cover, which goes an illustrative route. Along with more Ock arms and Pumpkin Bombs, there are a number of spiders and also the Eye of Agamotto to symbolize Doctor Strange's involvement. A lightning bolt can also be seen, another nod to Electro. Bot the middle right prominently features what is undeniably Sandman's arm forming a giant fist. This is the strongest confirmation yet that the villain will be in the film, though it's not clear if Thomas Hayden Church will reprise his role from the original third Spider-Man.

Up in the top right, below the "RE" in "EMPIRE," a stylized bubble can also be seen. Given how intentional the other design elements seem to be, it's hard not to read this as a reference to Mysterio. Certainly, his presence will be felt, as the movie will deal with the fallout from his posthumous video revealing Spider-Man's identity, but could some version of him return as a member of the burgeoning Sinister Six?

Beyond those five villains, the sixth member is nowhere to be seen. Whether it's Lizard, Vulture, Scorpion, or someone else, it's possible that the release of the magazine later this month will offer more insight when it releases in print and digitally.
