Marvel Studios' Spider-Man: No Way Home brings a number of major actors together, reprising their roles as some of the comic book movie subgenre's most iconic supervillains. That very much includes Amazing Spider-Man 2's Jamie Foxx as Electro, who was convinced to return because of one major change.

Speaking at the Brazil-based virtual Comic Con Experience, Foxx stated that executive producer Amy Pascal approached Foxx. "She was explaining to me it was going to be hot and I didn't have to be blue and things like that." With regard to his character, Pascal told Foxx, "You're going to be a little more hip."

The actor went on to discuss the costume he wore in Amazing Spider-Man 2. He said that at the time, "I didn't care. I was just happy to be in this wonderful chorus," but that it took several hours to prepare. When it comes to the new costume in Spider-Man: No Way Home, "It feels more comfortable and I think it feels more 'today.'"

Marketing for Spider-Man: No Way Home revealed that this iteration of Electro will resemble his comic book counterpart in appearance, though the costume will make use of an arc reactor developed by Tony Stark. It's uncertain how the supervillain will come across Stark tech and how it will be used in conjunction with his electricity-based powers.

Electro will not be the only character returning from the Amazing Spider-Man film franchise. TV spots and trailers have shown that Max Dillon will be joined by the Lizard, though it's unknown if actor Rhys Ifans will be reprising the role, as the character has thus far only appeared in his reptilian form.

From Sam Raimi's iconic Spider-Man trilogy, Spider-Man: No Way Home will bring actors Willem Dafoe and Alfred Molina back as Green Goblin and Doc Ock, respectively, along with Sandman from Spider-Man 3. However, it's unknown if actor Thomas Haden Church will be reprising the role.

Spider-Man: No Way Home will pick up right where Spider-Man: Far From Home left off, with Spidey seeing his secret identity exposed to the world, courtesy of Mysterio and Daily Bugle host J. Jonah Jameson. Trailers have shown that Peter will turn to Doctor Strange in the hopes of making everyone forget his secret identity via magic. When Strange's spell goes wrong, the Multiverse opens and familiar faces from different franchises pour in.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is scheduled to premiere on Dec. 17.
