Spider-Man: No Way Home swung into cinemas less than a week ago and has already found a home on IMDb's top-rated movies of all time.

IMDb's movie ratings are aggregated from the scores given by site users, and at the time of writing, No Way Home has a score of 8.8 out of 10. This score is high enough for the movie to be considered the ninth best of all time and is also the highest-rated in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The second highest MCU movie is Avengers: Infinity War at number 64 with a rating of 8.4.

However, this doesn't make No Way Home the highest-rated superhero movie of all time, as that honor is still held by 2008's The Dark Knight. Christopher Nolan's second take on the defender of Gotham currently has an impressive 9.0 rating from IMDb voters, making it the fourth highest-rated movie of all time.

Spider-Man: No Way Home also scores well on the review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes, where it has an audience score of a near-perfect 99 percent. The score from critics is slightly lower but still sits at an impressive 94 percent. No Way Home has a chance of more critical acclaim at 2022's Academy Awards as it's on the shortlist for two Oscars, making it a serious contender in both the Effects and Sound categories.

Avengers: Infinity War director Joe Russo congratulated the No Way Home team for surpassing Infinity War's opening weekend box office success. He posted a video of himself at the Avengers Campus in Disneyland with Spider-Man in the background and the comment, "Breaking all of the records!! This is the closest we can get to hanging out with [Spider-Man actor Tom Holland] now...." Russo also congratulated No Way Home for being "such a spectacular addition to the MCU."

Prior to No Way Home's release, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige commented on the high anticipation for the movie and the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic. "Obviously with the pandemic, the way we've announced things has changed and altered, and in some ways that's been good, because it's kept the focus on what's next,” he said. "It's kept the focus on the projects as they come out, and certainly the anticipation for No Way Home, I would say, is as big as anything we've ever felt before, which is good timing as the movie's about to come out."
