WARNING: The following article contains major spoilers for Spider-Man: No Way Home, now in theaters.

Spider-Man: No Way Home only hit theaters less than a month ago, but repeat viewers are noticing some unannounced alternations to certain scenes.

The context of the scenes remains unchanged, but the revisions are distinctly noticeable. One scene featuring Willem Dafoe's Norman Osborn has undergone a few storyboarding alterations, while another featuring Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire's introductions now sports some updated CGI effects.

In the former, an emotionally conflicted Osborn has an internal dialogue in an alley with his Green Goblin alter ego, whose mask Osborn has left hanging on a dumpster. Twitter user @ThisDrinkIlike1 posted back-to-back comparisons of the roughly 30-second scene, with the original version panning from the side to a more distant initial look at the Goblin's mask, while the altered version begins with a closer shot. The original maintains a distant view of the mask as the Goblin's personality tries to assert itself over Osborn, while the modified scene zooms towards the Goblin at different angle.

Both versions end with Osborn smashing the Goblin mask and leaving the alley, before his and his fellow villains' later confrontation with the three versions of Spider-Man.

In the Garfield/Maguire scene, Garfield's Peter Parker, followed by Maguire's, arrives through a multiversal portal conjured up by Jacob Batalon's Ned Leeds with the help of Doctor Strange's Sling Ring. The two versions of the scene are identical, save for the altered CGI defining the multiversal gateway. Twitter user @Marcogalego3 posted side-by-side screenshots of Maguire's Peter arriving through the portal, while YouTube user The Web Crawler shared adjacent video clips with captions highlighting the differences.

The new CGI effects are chiefly seen on the magically induced portal, which is more brightly defined in the background behind the characters. The YouTube video also makes note of changes to the texture of Garfield's Spider-Man costume. Maguire's incarnation of the character arrives in street clothes.

There's little known precedent for a film to undergo revisions while still in its theatrical release, but modern-day digital production and distribution provide the opportunity for such changes to be implemented more easily. The original Star Wars trilogy went through many alterations, but those were over the course of decades across various media.
