Two movie theater chains are promoting online ticket sales for Spider-Man: No Way Home with fan-made artwork that openly advertises the movie's alleged inclusion of former Spider-Man actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.

Tickets for the Marvel Cinematic Universe's third mainline Spider-Man film recently went on sale, and fans are flocking to movie theater websites in spades to snag their passes to see No Way Home later this month. However, some theaters' ticketing sites are using less-than-official artwork to promote the upcoming movie. Both the North American theater chain CMX Cinemas and the Indian theater chain Inox cinemas used fan-made edits of No Way Home promotional material to advertise their tickets. Screenshots of the advertisements, captured by The Direct, both show Maguire and Garfield in costume as their respective versions of Spider-Man alongside current Spider-Man actor Tom Holland, adding fuel to the rumors and speculation that all three actors will unite onscreen in the film.

CMX Cinemas, which operates throughout the U.S., used a banner image for its Spider-Man ticket sale screen that repurposes the upper half of an unofficial poster by a graphic designer at CHG Studio. In addition to Maguire and Garfield, the full poster includes Jake Gyllenhaal's Mysterio and Charlie Cox's Daredevil, all four of whom have yet to be officially confirmed to appear in No Way Home. CMX since removed the fan art from its website.

Conversely, Inox Cinemas is still using a fan-edited No Way Home poster to advertise its ticket sales at the time of this writing. The poster, which was originally edited and shared by Instagram user Zerologhy, adds the two previous Spider-Men to an officially-released No Way Home poster pitting Peter Parker against Alfred Molina's Doc Ock and Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin.

When tickets for Spider-Man went on sale on Cyber Monday, fans flocked to ticketing services in numbers so large that they caused multiple websites to crash. Reports have since confirmed that No Way Home's domestic pre-release sale numbers are the second-highest in history, bested only by Avengers: Endgame in 2019. Early Spider-Man showings are now in such high demand that some tickets have appeared in listings on secondary marketplaces like eBay for prices as high as $25,000.

Since production began on Spider-Man: No Way Homenumerous rumors, reports and leaks indicated that Maguire and Garfield will appear to reprise their roles from Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy and The Amazing Spider-Man series, respectively. Marvel, Sony and other official sources declined to confirm whether or not the actors will return, and Garfield himself has repeatedly denied his involvement. However, the ticketing service Fandango recently leaned into the speculation, even recruiting Holland for a promo that nods at the Spider-Man team-up theory.

Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: No Way Home swings into theaters Dec. 17.
