A piece of concept art for Spider-Man: No Way Home features Spidey's first encounter with two of the movie's interdimensional villains, Electro and Sandman. The image, composed by Maciej Kuciara, sees Spider-Man clad in his black-and-gold suit while being protected by Sandman from a blast of electricity fired by Electro. However, neither character physically appears in the image, outside of Sandman seemingly forming himself behind Spider-Man.RELATED: How Spider-Man: No Way Home Changes the MCU’s First Film

Electro and Sandman were played again by Jamie Foxx and Thomas Haden Church, who portrayed the characters in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3, respectively. Prior to the No Way Home's release, Foxx revealed how he was convinced to return following ASM2's lackluster reception. "[Spider-Man movie producer Amy Pascal] was explaining to me [No Way Home] was going to be hot and I didn't have to be blue and things like that," he said. As for the character himself, Pascal told Foxx, "You're going to be a little more hip."

While the Multiverse is what allowed Electro and company to return, No Way Home writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers recently explained that their original pitches didn't actually feature the Multiverse at all. "We had gone down a couple different roads with different story ideas that were not [the multiverse] that would then tease something like this at the end of it," McKenna recalled.

The duo also discussed why they felt that the movie was an appropriate ending for Tom Holland's version of Spider-Man, with Sommers stating, "It's ended in a place where it could feel like a satisfying to this particular Spider-Man, or it definitely could keep going. We get this team together in a room — and again, each one of these movies has had a big thing from the previous to react to. To be a story engine. If there were to be another one, we have this big change at the end that would be a huge story engine to what comes next."

Despite No Way Home being a fitting finale, Pascal expressed interest in doing more Spider-Man films with the actor. "As long as [Tom Holland] wants to make Spider-Man movies, we will make Spider-Man movies. I'm a producer, and I always think everything is going to work out," she said. "If I have my way, we will."

Spider-Man: No Way Home is now in theaters.
