Now that Spider-Man: Now Way Home - The More Fun Stuff Version has hit theaters, fans can witness its array of extended footage, notably showcasing more of Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock/Daredevil.

While the myriad moviegoers who have seen No Way Home already know about Cox's applause-inciting surprise cameo as Murdock, it seems that The More Fun Stuff Version brings a new dimension to what was already teased. With the character's presence manifesting in a professional capacity as a lawyer defending Tom Holland's now-exposed, murder-framed vigilante, Peter Parker/Spider-Man, the new scene adds levity to some courtroom drama. Indeed, the scene, viewable here via Twitter, depicts a notable interaction between Murdock and Jon Favreau's Happy Hogan, providing audiences an example of superhero abilities when the blind lawyer Murdock turns toward a panicking Hogan and, in a seemingly supernatural manner, emphatically whispers, "Happy. Stop. Sweating," which leads to Happy's confused response, "How do you do that?"

Indeed, as if the December 2021-launched No Way Home needed to extend its existing gross of nearly $2 billion worldwide and a third-highest all-time place among blockbusters, the Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures co-production swung back to theaters, newly integrating 11 minutes of never-before-seen footage previously relegated to the cutting room floor. As evidenced by the scene in question, the just-released redux turned out to be fortuitous for fans of Daredevil, who get to see more of Cox's surprise presence in the film.

Pertinent to the character's hidden abilities, the original release did provide a preview of Murdock's sonar-senses-driven Daredevil powers in a scene set in Peter's place, in which the lawyer shocks everyone -- even the spider-senses-wielding unmasked Spider-Man -- when he instantaneously catches a brick thrown through the window by a belligerent protester. Thus, Murdock's powers-demonstrating interaction with Happy in the courtroom might have been something that director Jon Watts considered redundant enough to cut from the film for time. Likewise, a delightfully awkward deleted scene depicting Spidey and a gaggle of villains forced to share an elevator ride has been restored in the new release.

Fortunately for fans, Cox's role reprisal is destined to prove more potent than a simple cameo. It was later confirmed that No Way Home's Murdock is, in fact, a codified MCU version of the character, standing in contrast to the version he played in the widely-acclaimed 2015-2018 Netflix Daredevil television series, which now calls Disney+ its streaming home. While the character's exploits will next take shape with a proper costumed crime-fighting debut as Daredevil on upcoming episodes of the Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney At Law (and appearances on the 2023-set Echo), the arc will subsequently become parlayed into an all-new series titled Daredevil: Born Again, which has been penciled-in for a premiere in fall 2024. Tellingly, that series landed an order for 18 episodes, which is unprecedented in the still-new annals of Disney+ MCU television offerings.

Spider-Man: No Way Home - The More Fun Stuff Version is currently in theaters, having debuted on September 2.
