The book is one of many Marvel picture books currently available. Other titles in the series include Spider-Man: Far From Home: Spider-Man Swings Through Europe!, Night Night, Groot, First Day of Groot!, Captain Marvel: Beware the Flerken!, Captain Marvel: What Makes a Hero, Grow Up, Ant-Man! and Spider-Man, Spider-Man!

Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange was confirmed for Spider-Man: No Way Home in October 2020. He will take on the mentor role that was held by Tony Stark / Iron Man in Spider-Man: Homecoming and Nick Fury in Spider-Man: Far From Home. The Sorcerer Supreme will then return to theaters a few months later in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Peter Parker will seemingly need the good doctor's help, as various casting announcements indicate that the film will explore the Marvel multiverse. Jamie Foxx will reprise his role as Electro from The Amazing Spider-Man 2, while Alfred Molina returns as Doctor Octopus from Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2. There are also reports that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will appear as their respective Spider-Men from their film franchises, although those reports have not been confirmed.

Spider-Man will also be dealing with issues in his universe. When viewers last left him, his secret identity was revealed to the world, and he was framed for the death of Quentin Beck / Mysterio. This puts Spidey's hometown of NYC into a frenzy, with people taking sides between Mysterio and Spider-Man. It also means Peter is in need of a lawyer, a role that will reportedly be filled by Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock / Daredevil from the popular Netflix series.

Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: No Way Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, Tony Revolori, Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina and Benedict Cumberbatch. The film arrives in theaters Dec. 17.
