No Way Home follows after the events of 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home. At the end of that movie, Quentin Beck/Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) framed Peter for a drone attack on London and his death. He also revealed Spider-Man's secret identity to the world. In the sequel, Peter seeks out help from Doctor Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to re-hide his identity. However, things go wrong, and Peter is forced to contend with villains from different Spider-Man franchises in the multiverse, including Harry Osborn/Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe), Otto Octavius/Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina) and Max Dillon/Electro (Jamie Foxx).

While it's unclear just how the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic will affect No Way Home's total box office, early projections for the movie are strong. No Way Home's first day of ticket pre-sales was the second-highest in domestic box office history, coming behind only 2019's Avengers: Endgame. Plus, early reviews for No Way Home are strong, with the film's score on Rotten Tomatoes currently sitting at 100 percent following press screenings.
