Spider-Man Musical, The Avengers, Alphas: Dec 21st Comic Reel

Another day, another injury on the stage of the Spider-Man musical. According to The New York Times,"Theatergoers who attended Monday's performance of 'Spider-Man,' a $65 million musical featuring complicated aerial stunts, said they saw either the actor playing the title character or his stunt double fall about 8 to 10 feet during the closing minutes of the show, and that some equipment fell into the audience when this occurred." Other audience members heard screaming. It's another in a long line of problems for the production. On Saturday, Variety published an article in which actors in the show expressed their understanding with the technical problems inherent in mounting the ambitious show. "Being an actor is like being an athlete. It's a physical thing. If a baseball player gets hit by a baseball, you think, 'Wow, we should really work to avoid that.' But we're not terribly surprised," says actor Patrick Page, who plays the Green Goblin.

Opens: 2011

E! Online asked actor Chris Hemsworth about the script. He replied with what seems to be the standard answer these days. "I haven't seen a hard copy yet so I'm looking forward to it... Just working with that cast and Joss [Whedon]. Every step of this has been exciting. I'm looking forward to the rest of it," he says. It seems everyone has met with Whedon, the film's director, but the script seems to exist in the hazy ethereal mists.

Directed by Joss Whedon & starring everybody, release date: May 4th, 2012

According to Ain't It Cool News, Ira Steven Behr has signed on to run Syfy's major "people with powers" show, "Alphas." Behr was the brains behind "Stark Trek: Deep Space Nine" and "The 4400." The series already has an eleven episode commiment and a ninety minute pilot already in the can.

Airdate: TBA

As our pals at Spinoff Online reported, actor Bryan Cranston believes the second season of the show will air with his own programme, "Breaking Bad" in July. "I believe they're going to put 'Walking Dead' in July as well. I think it's just a sensible thing - they want to attract as many eyeballs as possible, away from the heavy competition of the September, November, January start," says the actor. It this is true, production would have to commence right after the New Year. Anyone in Atlanta seeing zombies? Meanwhile, the AMC official blog has a video of the cast and crew discussing season 2:

Airs: 2011

E!'s Spoiler Chat has a brief word about Chloe's return when the series resumes January. "She'll be helping to rescue the heroes after what happened in the most recent episode. Prepare for awesomeness!" I'm a little bit behind on the show, but I hear there was an explosion or something? The heroes lay helpless? Anyway, there will be some sort of rescue.

Returns: January 28th, 2011

The rain has pretty much been non-stop around here. It's good. After a quick stop at the airport, I can avoid traffic and crowds through the 24th. It's also the shortest day of the year, which means for some that unsettling drive home in total darkness. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya, bracing for the future threat of that airport drive.
