WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Amazing Spider-Man #60 by Nick Spencer, Mark Bagley, John Dell, Andrew Hennessy, Rachelle Rosenberg & VC's Joe Caramagna, on sale now.

Spider-Man has been going through a tough time lately. He went through a public nightmare when he battled Sin-Eater, who many people believed was doing a good thing by cleansing villains' sins. He then battled Kindred and was killed repeatedly before Norman Osborn and Wilson Fisk swooped in and saved him. Later. he couldn't even beat Mister Negative without help.

But in Amazing Spider-Man #60, Spider-Man seems broken. He is down and has almost given up on everything he believed in, just like Kindred wants him to feel. He even told Norman Osborn that he didn't care about Harry anymore and was putting the entire Osborn family behind him, saying he never wanted to see Harry released and free again. Though Peter claimed he was done with Harry, Mary Jane knows that isn't true, and she has a plan to help Peter deal with everything that has happened to him and prove Kindred wrong.

Peter Parker opens up to Harry Osborn

Spider-Man has been having nightmares about Kindred and his experiences with the demonic villain that turned out to be Harry Osborn. Peter seems to be suffering from trauma thanks to the numerous deaths he suffered as Kindred tried to force a confession out of him. However, there is also the fact that, while Harry is trapped in an inescapable prison, he said it is where he wants to be. Some part of Kindred is still out there causing problems. However, for Spider-Man, the biggest concern is his own mental wellbeing, and Mary Jane just forced him to face those doubts, fears, and disappointment.

MJ took Peter to the theater where she enjoyed her breakout performance as an actress. There, she made Peter undergo an experiment that would force him to finally unload everything that has been emotionally weighing him down lately. She asked him to act like Harry was here in the room with him, and she wanted Peter to unload everything on his mind. It was how MJ was able to say goodbye to Gwen Stacy after her friend's death. While he didn't think it would work, Peter closed his eyes, and the stress, frustration and exhaustion allowed him to finally break the chains. He saw a vision of Kindred waiting for Peter to say what he had on his mind.

Peter said that he never had time to think about what Harry wanted him to say or what he wanted him to apologize for because his friends were in danger. He was angry and still is. Peter revealed that he is always angry. He also said he doesn't know how Harry ended up the way he is, and he just wanted his friend to explain it to him. He then admitted that Harry was right all along. He said Harry and Norman both blamed him, and he was sick of it, but the truth is that he feels it is somehow all his fault and his responsibility. Responsibility is a word that means a lot to Peter Parker, thanks to his Uncle Ben. Spider-Man has great power, and with that power comes the responsibility to live up to the fallout from his actions.

Peter Parker confesses everything

Spider-Man said that everything Kindred tried to show him was true. Every time he tries to make things better, they end up worse. However, the twist here is that Peter already knows this. He has been Spider-Man since he was a kid, trying to atone for his Uncle Ben's death. He has saved countless lives, but if it hurts those around him, how are things better? Spider-Man finally admitted he is trapped in a never-ending cycle of punishment for everything that happens, and it will always be his life. He loses more people he loves, and even when he has happy moments, he always ends up in the same place.

Spider-Man made a proclamation here. He told Norman Osborn he was done with the Osborn family, but that was a lie. Peter said every time Kindred killed him and asked him to admit to everything, all he could see was all of the friends together before things went bad, and he would give anything to go back and fix things. Peter then broke, asking Harry to tell him what to do because he will confess to anything if he can fix things. It took a while, but Spider-Man finally understood what Kindred was trying to tell him.
