With the launch of the PS5, Sony has brought with it a laundry list of games to its newest console. But, the big game to get for the PS5 is Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Since the release of Into The Spider-Verse, Miles Morales has garnered wider-recognition, so it makes sense to make Miles the star of his own game.

So far, the game has been met with widespread acclaim, with one of the only problems critics had with it was its short length. With the game's briefer story mode, fans will have plenty of time to dig into some comic books once they're finished. Let's take a look at 10 comics to read once one is finished with Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

10 Spider-Man: Velocity

Spider-Man: Velocity

While this first recommendation doesn't feature Miles Morales, Velocity is part of the same universe of the games. The story takes place a few months after the events of the PS4 game and sees Peter creating a brand new suit.

When a Mother/Daugther duo attacks the city, Peter will have to use his new creation and Spider Skills to take down these two before it's too late. The comic features the titular Velocity suit, something created for the PS4 game. Even so, it's still a decent tale that's worth a look for fans of the video game version of Spider-Man.

9 Ultimate Comics Spider-Man: Vol 1

Miles Morales

It's the story that kickstarted Miles' career in the Marvel Universe. When Peter Parker is killed in a fight against the Green Goblin, a new hero must rise and protect the people of NY, and that happens to be a 13-year-old bi-racial kid from Brooklyn. Unlike the Geeky Peter, Miles was a much more timid kid before getting his powers and is thrust into being a Super Hero.

While Peter had a choice of whether he should be one or not, Miles didn't have that luxury. It makes for an exciting and unique take that still manages to retain the essence of Spider-Man. It also helps that his supporting cast is far different than Peter's friends and family, making Miles' tale more unpredictable.

8 Miles Morales Spider-Man: Straight Out Of Brooklyn

Miles Morales as Spider-Man in Brooklyn

The latest book on this list may not be Miles Morales's best story, but it does make for a solid jumping-on point for new fans. This currently on-going series marks the first time that someone other than Miles Morales creator, Brian Micheal Bendis, has written the character's solo series.

Saladin Ahmed managest to capture Bendis' work while also managing to venture off on his own. It's a fun tale that's filled with familiar faces and Miles struggling with the troubles of balancing his life as Spider-Man and being a teenager.

7 Spider-Man: Miles Morales Vol 1

Spider-Man: Miles Morales Vol 1

Spider-Man: Miles Morales vol 1 was a big step forward for Miles. After Marvel destroyed the Ultimate Universe, Miles found himself apart of the mainline Marvel Canon with a fresh new start.

This story has it all: Miles saving the Avengers and His Mentor from a new foe, Miles having to deal with his strict Grandma, and Miles fighting against Black Cat and Hammerhead. Bendis manages to tell a much smaller story than prior events but still has time to give readers the same big, action-packed moments that he's known for.

6 Spider-Men

Spider-Men

Crossovers are bound to happen in comic books, especially with characters from different realities. Spider-Men marked the first time that the Peter Parker from our universe teamed up with the new Spider-Man from the Ultimate Universe. When Mysterio creates a device that can cross realities, Spider-Man meets Spider-Man in this action-packed crossover.

Bendis manages to tell a different story, showing just how different these Spider-Men are, as are their universes. It's a fun read that any Spidey fan should check-out.

5 Spider-Geddon

Spider-Geddon

While the Spider-Verse comic inspired the animated film, Miles actually isn't much of a main player in the story. However, the official sequel, Spider-Geddon, has Miles taking on a much bigger role. Once again, the evil  Morlun and his family, the Inheritors, are destroying the Spider-Verse, and a team of Spider-Men must unite to stop him.

Written by Christos Gage, Spider-Geddon is a worthy sequel to the 2014 original, featuring the same great interaction between different interpretations of Spider-Man. On top of Miles playing a bigger role, the PS4 version of Spider-Man has a supporting role and makes Spider-Cop canon to the Marvel Universe.

4 Spider-Man: City At War

Spider-Man: City At War

Written by the same writer for Marvel's Spider-Man: City At War is a faithful re-telling of the game in an easy to digest six-issue graphic novel.

Much like a lot of adaptations, City At War does feature a few changes to make the story of the game fit into the medium of comic books. However, it's worth checking out for those who want to see a different take on the beloved PlayStation-exclusive video game.

3 Miles Morales: Great Responsibility

Miles Morales: Great Responsibility

A year after Miles retired from his job of being Spider-Man, he's pulled back into it. When the Ultimate Universe gets its own of Cloak and Dagger, Miles has to get himself together and team-up with the new duo to help take down an evil company.

Miles was forced on with this responsibility, so seeing him deal with the ramifications of his decision to quit is powerful. His motivation to get back into it is also compelling. He desperately needed a break, and seeing him back in action was worth the wait.

2 Spider-Man: Miles Morales Vol 4

Spider-Man: Miles Morales Vol 4

So much has happened to Miles since he was brought into the mainline Marvel Universe. He's become a member of The Champions, his parents have learned of his Spider-Man life, and he's been getting mixed up with Hammerhead.

Now, Brian Micheal Bendis closes off his Spider-Man arc with a thrilling conclusion by having Miles go up against the Sinister Six. Fans have seen Miles go up against Peter's arch-enemies before, but now they're teaming up to destroy him. It's a great way to end Bendis' tenure on the character he created back in 2011.

1 Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man: Revival

Miles Morales as the new Spider-Man in Ultimate Spider-Man: Revival (2014)

After Miles' first adventure back in action, Revival is the beginning of the end of Miles' life in the Ultimate Universe. A year has passed since the Peter Parker of his universe died, but Spider-Man's archenemy, Green Goblin, is still alive. Miles must takedown Peter's old foe while continuing to prove that he's a worthy successor to Peter.

Featuring the same great art and writing that made Miles' original run iconic, this is a great continuation of Miles' journey and has one hell of an ending.
