Next year's Marvel's Spider-Man Season 3 will be retitled Spider-Man: Maximum Venom, as symbiotes begin to possess iconic heroes from the Marvel Universe.Marvel Entertainment has released artwork from the upcoming season. Upon its renewal for a third season this past May, Disney XD Senior Vice President Marc Buhaj announced the title change for the season and teased an epic battle between Spider-Man and Venom that would push the web-slinger to his very limits. Marvel Animation Senior Vice President Cort Lane alluded that the upcoming season would also feature the Guardians of the Galaxy being drawn into the conflict.

The animated series returns next month for its final five episodes of Season 2, which finds Otto Octavius taking over Peter Parker's body in a loose adaptation of the Superior Spider-Man comic book storyline by Dan Slott.
