The following contains spoilers for Amazing Spider-Man #21 from Marvel Comics.

Marvel's Amazing Spider-Man #21 reveals Mary Jane Watson's two children are named Stephanie and Owen.

Amazing Spider-Man #21 comes from writer Zeb Wells, penciler John Romita Jr., inker Scott Hanna, colorist Marcio Menyz and letterer VC's Joe Caramagna. At the start of the issue, Mary Jane Watson is in her apartment with Paul, the new person she was revealed to be dating in Amazing Spider-Man #1 after she and Peter Parker/Spider-Man had some sort of falling out, and two children who have consistently referred to her as "mommy." Trying to get the children out of the house, Mary Jane refers to the girl as "Stephanie" and the boy as "Owen."

What Happened Between Peter and Mary Jane?

Amazing Spider-Man #21 marks the start of a new story arc that will explain why Mary Jane and Peter broke up and how Mary Jane ended up with Paul, Stephanie and Owen; although, whether or not Stephanie and Owen are Mary Jane's biological children has not yet been revealed. Shortly after leaving the house, Mary Jane and her new family are shocked to see a villain known as "the Scribble Man" has returned, which Mary Jane then informs Peter about in a panicked phone call.

The rest of the issue is set one year earlier, back when Peter and Mary Jane were still together. While definitive answers are still coming in upcoming issues of the story arc, Amazing Spider-Man #21 hints a villain named Benjamin Rabin may have been involved. Since his breakup with Mary Jane, Peter has gotten close with Black Cat/Felicia Hardy once again as the two have started dating and recently returned from a weekend getaway together. Near the end of said weekend getaway, Peter told Felicia he no longer has any sort of romantic feeling toward Mary Jane and, rather, now loves her as a "sister" or "best friend."
